The Harold G. Simmons Scholarship offers college-bound high school seniors the opportunity to receive a $1,000 scholarship to be used at a two- or four-year educational institution.
The scholarship was established in 2012 in memory of Harold Simmons, a dedicated member of the TruService Board of Directors. Mr. Simmons served on the Board for 19 years as a volunteer and 18 years prior on the Supervisory Committee. He was an employee of the U.S. Postal Service for 42 years. During that time, Mr. Simmons also worked as a credit union employee from 1962 to 1966. His volunteer spirit for the credit union is an inspiration for us all. Our hope is that applicants will embrace that same spirit and carry it forward in their own lives.
For 2017-2018 school year, the $1,000 scholarship was awarded to Carson Swede of Central Arkansas Christian Schools .
